HISTORIA:
Durante la 2ª guerra mundial, Alemania investigó activamente la tecnología de cartuchos autopropulsados. Al menos DWM, Mauser y Walther, probaron prototipos de 7,9 y 9 mm. En España, la Fábrica Nacional de Palencia, también realizó algunas pruebas (al parecer en colaboración con Walther), el 9×30 German-Spanish. Poco después de la 2ª guerra mundial, Walther siguió con sus investigaciones y desarrollos, dando como resultado este cartucho.
