HISTORIA: Este raro cartucho se creó en 1907, apareciendo en el catálogo de Peterlongo de 1909. Alparecer estuvo en los listados de Hirtenberg hasta la Segunda Guerra Mundial, si bien no se tiene noticia de ningún cartucho con el marcaje de este fabricante. Este es el segundo calibre Peterlongo más común después del 8 x 71 Peterlongo. Hubo una versión con pestaña, el 9×71 R Peterlongo.
